Barça Outclasses Madrid in Seven-Goal Thriller to Tighten Grip on La Liga Title

FC Barcelona cemented their title credentials on Sunday night with a dramatic 4-3 victory over arch-rivals Real Madrid in a pulsating El Clásico clash that lived up to every expectation.

The Matchday 35 encounter kicked off with high intensity, and it took just five minutes for the visitors to break the deadlock. Kylian Mbappé, who has consistently delivered in big moments, converted a penalty after being brought down in the box.

Madrid doubled their lead in the 15th minute through none other than Mbappé again, who finished off a swift counterattack orchestrated by Vinícius Jr., putting Los Blancos in apparent control.

But Barcelona responded with resilience and flair. Eric Garcia halved the deficit in the 19th minute with a powerful header from a perfectly delivered Ferran Torres corner, breathing life back into the home side and sending the crowd into a frenzy.

Barcelona’s youthful dynamism then took center stage. Rising star Lamine Yamal netted the equalizer in the 32nd minute with a composed finish following sustained pressure. Just two minutes later, Raphinha completed the comeback with Barça’s third goal, slotting home a clever assist from Pedri.

On the stroke of halftime, Raphinha struck again, capitalizing on a costly error from Lucas Vázquez inside the penalty area to give Barcelona a commanding 4-2 lead going into the break.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti responded with changes at halftime, introducing Luka Modrić and Brahim Díaz in search of stability and creativity. Barcelona boss Hansi Flick also shuffled his pack, bringing on Christensen and Alejandro Balde to reinforce the backline.

The second half saw fewer goals but no shortage of drama. Mbappé completed his hat-trick in the 70th minute, latching onto a precise pass from Vinícius Jr. to bring Madrid back within one. Despite late efforts from the visitors, Barcelona held firm to claim a crucial three points.

The result marks Barcelona’s fourth consecutive league win and sees them maintain top spot on the La Liga table with 82 points—seven ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, with just three matches remaining in the season.

Hansi Flick’s side now finds themselves within touching distance of reclaiming the Spanish crown, while Real Madrid must regroup quickly to salvage their campaign and keep title hopes alive mathematically.
