I&M Bank Sponsors Sixth Edition of Rwanda Summer Golf Tournament at Falcon Golf Club

I&M Bank (Rwanda) Plc. was among the main sponsors of the sixth edition of the Rwanda Summer Golf Tournament, held at Falcon Golf and Country Club.

The tournament took place on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Rwamagana-based golf course, following two months of renovations. The nine-hole course underwent significant improvements to prepare for the annual Rwanda Summer Golf Tournament, an event traditionally accompanied by entertainment for participants.

I&M Bank (Rwanda) Plc. added extra excitement to the tournament, much to the delight of the players. Dr. Charles Gahima, one of the winners, expressed his enthusiasm, saying:

“We are very happy today because we had been eagerly awaiting this tournament. Missing it would be a loss, and it will take a whole year before we have another opportunity. I have participated since its inception six years ago, and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon.”

Iddy Rugamba, Secretary to the Board of Directors at I&M Bank (Rwanda) Plc., emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting the event.

“We are delighted to be part of organizing the ‘Rwanda Summer Golf’ at Falcon Golf Club. The energy from the players shows their love for the game, which in turn helps promote golf in Rwanda,” he said.

Rugamba added that the bank aims to grow the sport nationally and hopes future tournaments will continue to boost golf’s profile.

Notable performances on the day included Mary Mwangi in the women’s category, and Rugema Ngarambe and Dr. Charles Gahima among the senior players.
